The BARAK PORTHOLE FAÇADE covered the six-storey carpark situated at the bottom of the Swanston Square Apartment Tower (otherwise known as the William Barak Building) in Swanston St, Melbourne.
Doogood Surface Coatings was contracted to not only paint the composite façade components, but to also assemble and transport them as completed elements directly into the job site ready for installation. This was a monster project which involved employing six extra staff and renting a separate factory for the duration of the job.
The paint system used on the composite panels was a PPG two-coat system, consisting of a sandable Epoxy Primer and Isocyante-Free Acrylic top coat. The stainless steel domes were painted using a low film build Nanokote Polysiloxane.
